For First Timers:
I have never done something like this before. Where should I start?
Many people who come to Guided Place are brand new to this kind of work. If it feels overwhelming to choose from the session descriptions, that is completely okay.
A beautiful place to begin is with an Aura-Soma Reiki session. It offers a gentle introduction to the way I work, weaving together energy support, color, and somatic awareness in a way that does not require you to be vulnerable or figure anything out. You simply rest on a warmed table and allow your body to receive.
From there, we can explore what feels most supportive for you next, guided by what your body and system naturally respond to.
I’m nervous. What should I know?
Feeling nervous is completely okay. New experiences often bring up a little uncertainty. Regardless of the session type you choose, my role is to help you feel informed and supported. I explain what I am doing, invite your consent along the way, and welcome your questions at any point. You always get to decide what feels right for you in each moment.
What should I expect on my first session?
Your first session begins with us sitting together and taking a few minutes to connect. I will explain the flow of the session, so you have a clear sense of what we will be doing. From there, the experience unfolds based on the session you have chosen. Whether the work is more conversational, energetic, or body-based, you will always know what is happening and have space to ask questions or share feedback as we go.
Do I need to know what I want to work on?
Not at all. Sometimes it is just a nudge, a feeling, or a recommendation that brings us together. You do not need a clear goal or the right words. While the mind loves certainty, you are invited to trust what led you here and stay curious. From there, we gently explore what feels most present for you in the moment.
BOOKING
How many sessions do people typically do?
It varies across different types of work, and there is no set number of sessions. Some people come in for a single session to gain clarity or support during a specific moment, while others choose to return periodically or work together over a series of sessions for deeper integration. We decide together based on your needs, pacing, and what feels supportive for you.
Do you offer bundles?
Yes. Bundles are available for select services and are designed to support deeper integration over time. They also offer a reduced per-session rate. Availability and options vary depending on the type of work, and we can explore what feels most supportive for you during or after your first session.
SOMATIC PROCESSING
Do we talk in somatic processing?
Yes, conversation is part of the work, though it tends to be simple and present-focused rather than centered on detailed storytelling. You only share what feels comfortable. We use words to bring clarity and connection, while also developing and staying with your internal felt sense.
Will Somatic Processing be emotional?
It can be, though the goal is not cathartic release or pushing emotions to the surface. True support for the nervous system comes from steady, paced work that builds safety over time. Some sessions feel quiet and grounding, others may bring emotion or insight. Whatever arises is met with care, choice, and room to move slowly so the experience can integrate in a lasting way.
Do I need to prepare?
No preparation is needed. You are invited to arrive exactly as you are. You do not need to have anything ready to talk about. The body-based nature of the work often allows what is relevant to surface naturally once we begin.
Is this therapy?
While this work can feel deeply supportive and meaningful, it is not psychotherapy, and it does not replace medical or clinical mental health care. What I offer is a body-centered, integrative approach that supports awareness, regulation, and self-connection. Many people choose this work alongside traditional therapy or other wellness care as part of a broader support system.
What outcomes should I expect?
This work is less about quick fixes and more about creating lasting shifts in how you relate to yourself. Many people notice feeling calmer, more present, and more connected to their inner world. Over time, clients often experience greater clarity, emotional resilience, and a deeper trust in their own guidance. The exact outcomes are unique to each person, but the common thread is a growing sense of ease, self-understanding, and capacity to meet life with more steadiness.
AURA-SOMA
What is Aura-Soma?
Aura-Soma is a self-selecting color care system developed in England by Vicky Wall in the 1980s. It uses Equilibrium bottles made with plant extracts, essential oils, and crystal essences. During a reading, a practitioner supports you in exploring the colors you choose, offering context and reflection to help translate color symbolism into practical insight. The system is not prescriptive and centers your own awareness, choice, and embodied experience.
How can you work with Aura-Soma?
For Insight and Messages
Aura-Soma is commonly experienced through a guided session where you select Equilibrium bottles based on color resonance. A trained practitioner supports you in exploring the themes and messages reflected through your selections and how they relate to your lived experience.
For Integration and Ongoing Support
After a session, you may choose to work with one or more Equilibrium bottles at home. The oils are applied topically to specific areas of the body and used over time to support integration and to supplement the specific frequency you are being invited to hold more of.
For Body-Based Color Work
Aura-Soma can also be experienced through Aura-Soma Reiki + Chromotherapy, where colored light is applied to the body using a light pen. This non-invasive method works with color frequency along energy pathways and centers. Color light interacts with the body’s biophotons, the light particles involved in cellular communication, supporting balance, circulation, and energetic coherence within the system.
Aura-Soma and Chromotherapy are complementary, non-diagnostic practices and are not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
Does the Aura-Soma Soul Messages session include the cost of an equilibrium bottle to take home?
No. Not everyone feels ready to work with a bottle immediately, and there is no requirement to do so. If you choose to work with an Equilibrium bottle, the cost is $68 USD per bottle and you may take it home at the end of your session. Pomanders and Quintessences may also be recommended as optional supports alongside an Equilibrium journey. This is a choice-led process. You are always invited to move at your own pace and select what feels supportive and appropriate for you at the time of your session.
What is the difference between Aura-Soma’s Equilibrium Bottles, Pomanders, and Quintessences?
Equilibrium Bottles are the primary self-care tool in the Aura-Soma system. They are selected during a session based on color attraction and applied to specific areas of the body over time to support integration. $68 USD
Pomanders are aromatic supports used on the hands or around the body. They are often used for grounding, focus, and energetic hygiene, especially during daily life or times of transition. $50 USD
Quintessences are aromatic supports commonly used for reflection, meditation, and alignment. They tend to support awareness and integration rather than day-to-day regulation. $50 USD
