Join us for Casual | Ritual Circle, where we gather every other Thursday to foster connections through conversation, spirituality, and personal growth. We rotate between “Casual” Circles and “Ritual” Experiences.
In our 'Casual' sessions, we flow more intuitively, allowing space for shared insights and organic conversation based on group prompts or themes, in contrast to the more structured frameworks of our 'Ritual' experiences.
Casual | Ritual: Cultivating Joy
A Circle for Reconnecting with Joy and Sharing It Forward
Thursday, April 30, 6:30-8:00pm
Joy is not frivolous. It is nourishment for the nervous system and an essential ingredient in resilient communities.
When the world feels heavy, joy can quietly slip to the bottom of the priority list. Yet the ability to experience moments of lightness, connection, and laughter helps the body remember safety, possibility, and belonging.
Join us for this Casual | Ritual Circle as we explore what it means to cultivate joy in our lives and share it outward into our communities.
The evening will begin with welcoming the circle and a thoughtful group conversation about our relationship with joy. Together we will reflect on where joy shows up naturally, where it can feel blocked, and how we can begin allowing more space for it in everyday life.
From there, we will move into a gentle somatic awareness meditation to notice how joy lives in the body, followed by a few energizing rounds of Breath of Joy to awaken lightness and movement in the nervous system.
The final portion of the evening will be creative and playful. Participants will craft small gifts of joy to share with others, such as painted rocks to hide along walking paths, encouraging notes to leave in unexpected places, or uplifting messages that may brighten someone’s day when they need it most.
Small acts of kindness have a ripple effect. What begins as a simple gesture can travel far beyond the moment it was created.
This special circle is offered in partnership with Megan Byler of Girl’s Day Out, whose work centers around creating meaningful moments of connection, encouragement, and shared experience for women in our community.
Come as you are and leave feeling more connected to the quiet ways joy can move through your life and into the lives of others.
What to Expect:
Group conversation exploring our personal relationship with joy
Somatic-based approaches to invite lightness and energy into the system
A creative activity, crafting small gifts of joy for our communities
No prior experience with somatic practices is necessary.
What to Bring:
- An open heart and curious mind
- All crafting materials will be provided
Why Join?
• Reconnect with the experience of joy in your body through thoughtful conversation, gentle somatic awareness, and breath practices that help the nervous system soften and open.
• Reflect on your personal relationship with joy, exploring where it naturally lives in your life and what may have made it harder to access lately.
• Create small, meaningful gifts of encouragement that can quietly brighten someone’s day and ripple kindness into your community.
• Gather with others in a space that values presence, connection, and the reminder that joy is still worth cultivating, even in uncertain times.
As always, when we gather in circle, we recognize these truths:
+ This is a soul group divinely guided to honor and bear witness to each other inside a safe, sacred container.
+ Intimacy is created through our shared courage and vulnerability to allow ourselves to be fully seen.
+ We release the instinct to fix and problem solve, but instead to simply be present with each other’s lived experiences.
+ We recognize that when people gather in sacred space, group healing will always take place, no matter if we are conscious of it.
This event is $10. Secure your spot here.
If you feel called to join, we meet at 6:30-8:00 pm at Guided Place x KOZY, 213 Pearl Street in New Albany.
Come Casual. Come as you are.
